Broadcast details for Betfred Women's Challenge Cup Semi-Finals Confirmed
The semi-finals of the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup – a double-header at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday 24 April – will be shown live on the BBC’s digital platforms, including BBC iPlayer, Red Button, and the BBC Sport website and app.
Coverage gets underway at 2.30pm with York City Knights versus Leeds Rhinos, followed by cup holders St Helens taking on Featherstone Rovers at 5pm.
All four sides progressed imperiously through the group stage of the competition to reach last weekend’s quarter-finals. St Helens then held off Huddersfield Giants 24-0 to claim their place in the last four, alongside Leeds Rhinos who defeated Warrington Wolves 40-0, York City Knights who romped to victory over Oulton Raidettes and Featherstone Rovers, who edged out Wigan Warriors 12-10 in the final tie of the round.
At stake is a place in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final – part of a triple-header alongside the semi-finals of the men’s competition at Elland Road, Leeds, on Saturday 7 May. Live coverage begins at 11.30am on BBC2, with the women’s final kicking off at 12noon. This will be the third time in succession that the women’s final features as part of a triple header, following triumphs for Leeds Rhinos at the University of Bolton Stadium in 2019 and St Helens at Leigh Sports Village in 2021.
Thomas Brindle, RFL Head of Growth, says: “I’d like to thank Warrington Wolves and the BBC for providing both the broadcast platform and the quality of stadia to match the occasion. The semi-final draw has given us two fascinating semi-finals, with everything to play for and the tantalising prospect of playing at Elland Road Stadium in front of the biggest crowd for a domestic women’s match.”
